This Privacy Policy explains how PDFPal.ai ("PDFPal", "we", "us") collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use our PDF translation service at pdfpal.ai (the "Service").

Information we collect

• Account information — your email address and name when you create an account.
• Documents you upload — the PDF files you submit for translation and the translated files we produce for you.
• Payment information — when you purchase credits or a subscription, payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation and billing metadata (plan, amount, status) but never your full card number.
• Usage and technical data — log data such as IP address, browser type, and actions taken, used to operate and secure the Service.

How we use your information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To process translations and deliver your files.
• To process payments, credits, and subscriptions.
• To send transactional email such as account verification, password resets, and receipts.
• To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or security issues.

Your documents

Uploaded documents are processed on isolated workers solely to produce your translation. We do not use your documents to train AI models. To translate text, the necessary content is sent to the third-party translation engine you select (see Subprocessors). Files are stored so you can download them, and are retained until you delete them or close your account.

Subprocessors

We rely on trusted third parties to operate the Service:

• Translation engines — Google, SiliconFlow, OpenRouter, OpenAI, and Anthropic (depending on the engine you choose) process document text to generate translations.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Cloudflare — email delivery and infrastructure.
• Object storage — encrypted storage of your uploaded and translated files.

Each subprocessor handles data only as needed to provide its part of the Service.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use cookies to sell your data.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete individual translations at any time from your history. To delete your account and its associated data, contact support@pdfpal.ai.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise them, contact support@pdfpal.ai.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes are reflected by the "Last updated" date shown above.
