Frequently asked questions
PDFPal parses your document into an intermediate representation that separates the visual layout from the text. It translates the text with formulas masked as placeholders, then re-anchors the translation onto the original layout and rescales each paragraph to fit.
1 credit equals 1 translated page. New accounts get free pages to start, and paid plans add a monthly page allowance. Premium engines use credits at a slightly higher rate.
Formulas, sub/superscripts and inline math are preserved verbatim. Scanned or image-based PDFs have a dedicated mode that keeps the output clean, though text recognition (OCR) isn't available yet.
Your documents are processed on isolated workers, stored privately and only ever shared back to you through short-lived signed links. They are never used to train models.
